Nothing on the maker but I really like the horn.  Very simple style.  The letters look like they were done with single stamp dies.

With the exception of the rear plug the design looks like a couple of originals I have.

I would question that Risser was the maker.  This very likely could be Risser, his horn.

Interesting thought, Rob. Sellers does not list a Risser as a gunmaker. Other reasons one would have a stamp to personally identify "your own"  horn other than  a maker?

In years past, folks would stamp their personal tools with their name or initials. My bet is an owner stamped his name on his property in this case his powder horn.

I could be wrong.

If it were a gunsmiths stamp, I would assume they would both say Risser, but since the second stamp
says Riss, it leads me to think the letters were placed one at a time.  Unless of course the curve of the plug
dome caused the stamp to miss the last 2 letters.

Is it possible that a single stamp was used for the bottom strike too, but due to the curve of the cap it wouldn't leave an imprint? So next try the guy moved it to a flat part of the cap and "viola"...

I'm with Rick on this but what is the second word or phrase?
