Title: Wow....Really Short Rifle
Post by: davec2 on September 29, 2016, 09:52:20 PM: I know this site is about "long" rifles, but I just stumbled across this video by accident. At first I thought, "wow, what an ugly little thing".....but, since it is an original 18th century weapon, I watched the whole video. By the end, the little thing sort of grew on me.....The guy doing the video does a good job as well, I think......

Post by: Mike Brooks on September 30, 2016, 01:19:28 PM: That gun is much later than he claims .It's more like 1800-1815 or so. I'd put a tighter patch/ball combo in it as it probably has a real fast twist. Nifty little gun, fast ignition too.

The wood is too short for anything else. It will be my first build .

I laughed out loud at the Google translation for that first matchlock:

Hoyt is making me a 24" in .58, he'll make you anything you want.
