I thought y'all might enjoy this little flintlock pan primer I picked up from Lowell at the New Market show. 

I quite a lot of work went into carving, fitting and finishing the little guy. 

Too cute to leave sitting on his table.

I like that quite a bit, and I don't really live in good beaver country. Do you fill it through the nose, or maybe the tail comes off???

I agree, it's really cute.  It never ceases to amaze me how talented some people are.

I agree.  Lowell is quite a craftsman.  You should see the rifles!

The beaver is filled by unscrewing the spout.  There is a brass insert that holds it in the wood.  Fabulous quality on a tiny scale.
