Started this about a week ago. Been wanting a propane two burner forge for awhile....but I'm to gosh darned cheap to buy one. Been reading a lot on the subject and decided to give it a try.
Most of the parts are drops from a local welding shop. They sold them for the salvage price. Had to buy some of the black iron and brass. Had a parts bin of used valves, bushings, tees and such. Got enough fire brick given to me.
Putting the final touches on the manifold and gas supply hook up this evening.
Got a bit over $150 invested.
Here's the 18" long 5"×8" Forge body with my home brew burners.

Test fired before sunset. Need to add air chokes to each burner.

As a means to an end looks great, I wouldn't enjoy forging as much without the smell of my coal fire. I also like the versatility of the coal fire. I can have varying degrees of heat in and around the fire. My first attempts at forging were with natural gas in high school shop class. I also suppose gas forges are not as likely to get complaints from neighbors. I have a hole dug in my shop floor ready to pour a footing for my new traditional brick forge, and a great bellows ready to be restored. I can't wait to hear those bellows valves clack and smell that coal smoke.
Hopefully you will soon show us some work from your new forge set up.

I use this one of mine if I need to do a quick heat treat or something along those lines but am building a new coal forge to use for most of my work from now on. The propanes are nice and fast but I've gotten to where I like a relaxing work atmosphere and the loud gas forges just don't offer that for me. :(

Very nice setup!...
My setup is for working outside. Someday maybe...there will be an outside workshop. For now, this makes the most sense. It's entirely portable.

I added aprons on the front and back. Really need to weld in a adjustable tool rest.
Although not period correct ...managed to use it to heat treat a piece of 1/4" 1075 high chromium air quenched. Worked pretty well on this modern piece I made over the weekend.

Looks nice! Looks like it will work for multiple tasks! I've got an order for a forged, single bevel patch knife of a style I've not done before that I need to start work on. Supposed to be hot today, then cooler and rainy for a few days. I'll wait for the cooler days and hopefully get after it.

That's a pro-looking assembly, Gizamo. Very workmanlike and ingenious.
The one thing I'd add, if I were you, is insulation. You'll burn a lot less gas for a lot more heat. Even some 1/2" firebrick slabs would make a lot of difference.
