Title: Ferguson balls .615 to .645
Post by: oldgunguy on September 15, 2017, 12:14:19 AM
Hi Guys,

I just finished my Ferguson from TRS lot of work. one thing I had to do was to make the sear arm longer, I just used a short pc. of brass round stock and drilled a hole in it and made the sear arm dia. to fit tight and put a bit of soft solder in in the hole. The rest of the work on the kit is good,  I would have liked  it to came out better, as my old boss said to me when I looked over his work....its not my best work but it ant my worse .

My question here is I need to shoot it and if any of you Ferguson lovers like myself want to sell me about 30 or 40 balls let me know the cost and it will be sent my friends.

Thanks,....Bernie/oldgunguy

I got a fine .615 mold from Moose Molds for $100 or so.  Not too great an expense when you consider you are shooting them in a $4000 or so rifle!  I am proud of mine and it is a joy to shoot.  I prefer the .615 as recommended in the book "Every Insult and Indignity", by Bryan Brown and Ricky Roberts which I also recommend if you are serious about shooting a Ferguson

TOTW also has .600 and .610s . Didn't see any .615s.

Eddie May might carry a .615 ball.

I would defiantly want to shoot several different sizes to see what shoots best prior to buying a mold.

I am in the midst of replacing photos in as many of my posts as I can.  I just finished replacing them in this thread:

At the end of the thread is a report on my first target run with the Ferguson using .615, .620, and .650 balls.  Might be of some help to you.
