For anyone who has made one of these, what is the width of the comb where it terminates at the wrist? I was looking at one of the old auctions on Herman Historica and one looked wide, guessing about 1/4 across. Just seems wide to me, any thoughts? Thank you for the help,
Greh

That would be my estimate from photos.

Guys,
At least 1/4 inch, probably 1/2 inch is most accurate. Also, the top of the comb on many Brandenburg rifles was flat. See below.

Don't have a camera on hand, but the comb on the rifle I'm creating does have a flat top. At the moment it's a smidge bigger than 1/4". Final scraping and/it sanding will probably get me to that point. I'll post pics when the rifle is done. Thank you both for the help,

Here's pics of the one I made in 2015, right or wrong it looks like the originals. It measures 11/16", 1" back from the nose. Right at the point it's about 1/4" to 5/16".

Those pics are a great help, thank you for posting them. That's about what I have now, so I'm gonna too refining the area until the rest of the stock is shaped. Them I'll tweak it if necessary. Beautiful rifle by the way,

Thanks Greg, I gotta credit Ron Scott for the wood ;) I just had to remove everything that didn't look like a Jaeger.

Nice work Tom! No flies on that one!
