Title: How many ways can you modify a Siler Lock?
Post by: Ron Scott on February 22, 2018, 11:43:59 PM: I was searching my photo album for another photo and ran across this of a Lock made up from a left hand Siler. It occurred to me that others have made major changes and might want to share their efforts.

Post by: Hungry Horse on February 23, 2018, 04:54:07 AM: I am very surprised that none of the modified Silers have the brass plate option, or the brass pan. Jim Chambers told me the locks can be ordered with either of these. I personally think a brass pan would be pretty neat on a modified steel plate. Especially if you were styling a French style lock.

Post by: B.Barker on February 23, 2018, 05:49:39 AM: I've modified several left hand silers. I seen a set of JP Beck pistols once one was right and one was left handed. The left handed pistol had his name engraved backwards on the barrel so I engraved Ketland backwards on the left hand Ketland style lock. I'm left handed but engraving words backwards is a real challenge. I enjoy seeing what others have done with the lock.
