Title: Stutz
Post by: R Whittington on March 30, 2018, 05:27:29 AM
Saw something on the Pedersoli web site. It’s called a “Stutz” it is a short barreled flintlock. Large caliber, 12” barrel. Has anyone ever heard of one?

In German it's a Stutzer or carbine.Years ago I made a small group of Ketland locks
for a woman in the German speaking part of Switzerland for copies of a Schweizer Feldstutzer
from 1805.Another is the Oberndorfer Feldstutzer a similar rifle to the "Swiss Federal Rifle".
Stutz is also another German word for support as in a Building.
