I just purchased a 36 cal flinter from a friend of mine. He is a gunsmith and a little old lady brought it too him to sell for her. A few questions:
1. what style/school is it?
2. can i shoot ff as its the only powder i have at the moment?

Has Lancaster lines. Yes you can use FFG.

thanks for the feedback

I think you’ll have a great time shooting that little rifle.

cant wait to send some lead down range.

2f, while not preferred for that rifle, will work. Also, I just picked one up a month ago, and it's a freaking blast.

ok cool, will be a little bit until i can get some fffg

Do try some 3F but don’t be surprised if it likes FFg better. Mine does.

amw334 - good for you on your purchase. A .36 is a lot of fun to shoot. While I have yet to develop a load for my .36 using 2F,
I like to have accuracy loads for all my guns with both 2f and 3F, thus if ever short of one, the other will work just fine.
I have always found 2F to foul less or no more than 3F, even though you normally have to use a little more 2F to get the same
velocity and point of impact as your accuracy load in 3F.

Thanks for all the info. Hopefully I can shoot it this week.

Normally I use 3F for about everything. But I've also burned a lot of 2F. I don't try to duplicate 3F ballistics with 2F but I will find an accurate load with it, often these are lighter than normal loads.
