Technical Data: Miniature Hudson Valley Fowler (barrel length only 50”), 10 bore, 115 gr 1F followed by three over shot cards, 1 5/8 oz nickel plated #6, then two over shot cards. Cards were lubed with mink oil. This load has been field tested to 6 yards, and is guaranteed deadly at that range.
Now for the quiz – one of these creatures is a fine, handsome long beard, and the other one is just an ugly old turkey. Which is which?

I caint see much diffrence, 'cep' one's bigger'n the other'n...mighty nice lookin' smokepole, tho! ;)

That plain old turkey holding the gun looks pretty...well, you know. The gobbler looks great, though.

Why is the turkey's head blacked out? Is he afraid to be seen with you?
;D ;D ;D ;D
Congrats on the turkey, by the way.

I had to obscure their beaks to make the quiz harder – otherwise it was just too easy to tell which one was the ugly old turkey.

Good looking fowler. Even after taking a load of shot to the face the bird still looks pretty darn good. The fellow holding both of them well ::)

Classic Jose ;D
Congratulations Skychief

Great looking bird and fowler.

That is indeed, a turkey gun - with round ball, it would be hard to beat on moose too.
Buddy of mine up here has an 11 bore rifle, shooting a .735" ball. It is a super moose killer, even better than my 14 bore - imagine that!

They both got beards so it was pretty confusing. But only one has real wings with feathers. Jose is that 60 yards of 6 with your gun? Oldtravler

Jose is that 60 yards of 6 with your gun
Nope. Just plain old six yards (5.48 meters). I can't see 60 yards anymore.
