Title: Carved Fowler

Hi All,

This fowling gun belongs to ALR member Fundukj.  I'm posting these pictures with his permission.  Any ideas on where and when this gun was made?  Thanks.

It's always been a half-stock.  However, wood replaced from the rear thimble out. Signed on the barrel and lock, but I'm unable to decipher the names.

I'm going with my initial guess of Austrian, but I'm surprised no one has thrown in German or Swiss.  I like European guns, but I'm not an expert.  I would date this gun to 1750/1760, give or take.  Also, I'm going to take a wild stab at the name on the barrel as "GEORG ZIEGLER."  It is hard to read even with a glass.  John
