I saw this on an original military style jaeger rifle. It has one flip up long range blade.

Rich, Thanks for the rear sight pic. I have seen several of these on what would be considered as German military weapons .

Trackofthewolf.com sells that sight or several nearly identical sights.

This is another Jaeger rear sight also very cool

The rear sight on my great-grandfather's Mississippi Rifle (Whitney, 1853) has flip-up sights for 300 and 500 yards. He was in the 4th Minnesota Volunteer Infantry, which went down the Mississippi River (Iuka, Corinth) to Vicksburg, and then from Chattanooga (Missionary Ridge) to Atlanta and beyond with Sherman's good will tour of the South.
