Title: Help identifying a rifle

Looking for help identifying this rifle. Any thoughts on what it is or where it may have been made? It has a walnut stock with a straight 32" barrel. Lock appears to be converted to percussion. Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like a newer restock of older parts.  Box, buttplate and guard, and entry pipe filing, look like late Easton area.  Also looks like the barrel was seriously cut down but nobody ever moved the rear sight forward.

Thank you. A friend of mine purchased several old rifles, most of them appear to be Midwestern. This one, I had no clue where it was from. The rear sight is definitely way to close. I certainly would never have been able to use that sight.

With a single trigger, an odd-style patchbox, and what appears to be a cherry stock, I'd think New England would be a good place to start looking for this rifle's origin. Shelby Gallien
