Comments:

What I would wonder is the J Ferree name on the barrel, as in which J Ferree.
I've only seen a few Ferree rifles, and there's not many in the books either. But this one doesn't seem to fit with either Joel or Jacobs' work, or time period. I've have heard that their were a bunch of W. Pa. Ferrees', so maybe this is by one of them.

Or is it a J Ferree barrel, trigger guard, maybe other parts, restocked by some other maker?
