Title: Knife project finally finished
Post by: River Runner on January 13, 2019, 01:11:43 AM
I picked up this 8" carbon steel knife blank with the silver guard at a local gun show a couple of years ago for a paltry $15.  Someone had glued in place a stag handle from a carving knife.  The workmanship was pretty bad so I cut it off, machined the german silver thimble and re-handled it.  This week I finished the sheath.  There is an inner sheath of 6oz leather with the backside edges butted together and stitched with a crossover stitch pattern.  The outer cover is of 3-4oz leather with a standing seam along the backside.  All in all, I am pretty pleased with it. The knife is well l balanced, but a bit more bling than I prefer for my persona.

I like it...you’ll just have to come up with a backstory on why your persona has such a nice knife!  That sheath is very nice. 👍🏼

Use it for your every day knife, going to town all that fun stuff.   Very good looking.
