Title: George L. Dech Longrifle
Post by: Dave_Markowitz on January 26, 2019, 12:50:51 AM
Hello,

I've been lurking on the forum and thought I'd share this Pennsylvania rifle restocked by George L. Dech for my first post.

I bought this rifle from the used rack at Dixon's in Kempton, PA in 2008. It is a restocked Dixie Gunworks .50 caliber Tennessee Mountain Rifle. Dech retained the original Miroku-made barrel, lock, triggers, and ramrod (which I've replaced). It also came with a spare frizzen.

It's been a good shooter that's a bit better handling than a factory original TMR, due to the turned down barrel.

Dave, glad I saw your post. George Dech back in the day was a highly regarded gunmaker. Chuck Dixon in the late 70's -80's, thought highly of him.  He was regionally known but not nationaly. You've probably got a really good gun.
