I boiled and carded the trigger guard for the plain rifle I'm working on today. The grain really popped out on it so I thought I would get a photo and show folks the "grain" in wrought iron. No this is not how it will look when finished. Iron takes rusting different than steel does.

Looks beautiful, like Damascus. Hopefully the grain will still be apparent after you blue or brown it?

I knew that was some good stuff. Looking good Brian.

8) 8).... interesting,.... wrought iron is harder & harder to find,.... would like to see you make a butt-plate out of wrought,... great job,....!!!

Wrought iron and Damascus are two different things.

The wrought looks nice but, it is the metal work on the guard that stands out to me.....
