Comments:
The barrel is swamped, 39.5" long, and 44 caliber.
A very fine Glaze rifle in great original condition, fully carved and one of Glaze's best works. The amount of detail work on the cheek and forestock is beyond any Glaze I have seen before...including the fine Glaze rifle we reviewed several months ago. Every inch of the gun is interesting...only detail slightly less than superb is the patchbox, which style he has repeated on other rifles. Again we see his downward swooping eagle cheek inlay, complex forestock molding, heavily engraved surfaces, and great butt carving. He was a master of mixing relief and incise carving on his rifles. Overall a better than fine rifle.
