Title: Difference between sporting and blasting powder???
Post by: Justin Urbantas on April 27, 2019, 01:23:41 AM
Can someone please explain the difference between blasting and sporting powder? Looking at a granulation chart, FFFG and 5FA are the same sized grains.  Can this be used in rifles/pistols?

5Fa is a fireworks powder and some have used it in place of 3F rifle powder with good results.

Justin - was it called blasting powder, or stumping powder? Years ago, one of the lads down South had some Stumping Powder, that was quite coarse.
