Title: Lock Kit Assistance

To get some work under my belt and satisfy the urgent genetic itch, I bought a lock kit at the CLA show last year.
It s just kind of a generic counter, so far I have been cleaning it up and filing to get it going.
When purchasing the kit I was informed that the kit was all heat treatable.
I have an electric oven and have CCH modern parts - but I want this right. Anyone able to point me to a past thread explaining which parts at which tenps and times etc?
Any help is very appreciated.

Also, most heat treatment and tempering discussion here tends to be in colors not temps, but also there are color to temp conversion charts if that is a problem.  Old timers didn't have infrared sensors or electric ovens.

The only parts I normally heat treat are the springs, frizzen, tumbler/fly, and sear.   Hardening should be the same for all.   Just make sure they are hard to start; test with a file.  I temper the frizzen to 375F, the springs to 700F, and the tumbler/fly to 500F and the sear to 590F.   I also temper set triggers to 590F.  I polish the parts (springs/triggers) to be heat blued and reheat to 560F.   These temps have come from instructions from and conversations with Chambers, L&R, and Davis.

Mark Elliot that information is exactly what I was looking for. If memory serves, and that is a stretch, I believe I was told the parts were all 8120 but I may be wrong on that.
