Title: Choosing a horn
Post by: KILTED COWBOY on June 26, 2019, 06:15:01 PM
I have a Kibler Colonial .54.
Trying to choose a proper horn is mind boggling with all the choices and options out there. HELP !
I would like it to be proper for the Rev War period. Not a wall hanger but one to use for shooting.
I see with plugs. screw tips, valves, measured valves, different sizes.
Most shooting will be for target shooting day and weekends.

Look around in your area for a horn builder or contact: The Honourable Company of Horners. Find a maker, pick his brain and ask lots of questions. If you have a Kibler rifle you should have a proper horn to go with it, not a production horn. Here are two of mine.

Muskrat Mike again: Forgot to mention both of mine were made by Scott Morrison in Keizer, Oregon.

If needing a horn for a rifle used at Rendezvous for a large bore gun, I like this one, purchased
at Dixon's many moons ago.
