Title: References for Southern Banded Horns
Post by: Mark Elliott on June 30, 2019, 12:27:34 AM
The best reference I have for Southern banded horns is Jay Hopkin's book.   Is there another good reference for these types of horns that I may be missing?   Let me know your favorite references for Southern powder horns.

Let's see...Michael Briggs' Pedmont North Carolina Banded Power Horns Hunting Bags and Bullet Molds,
Powder Horns Documents of History, by Tom Grinslade, Bill Ivey's North Carolina Schools of Longrifles 1765-1865, either one of Scott Sibly's books and Grant's, Powder Horns and Their Architecture.
These should give you a place to start and some ideas.

Tim listed the ones I was thinking about,  Jay's next book will likely have some ideas for you from the Carolinas, Virginia and Georgia.  God Bless,   Marc
