Title: Breaking in my new .54
Post by: Heyboy on August 25, 2019, 05:32:01 AM
Trying to shoot and have as much fun as I can and also fine tune my new rifle for hunting season. It’s a Kibler put together by my friend Jack DuPrey. It was cutting patches but the barrel was brand new and after a little steel wool and kroil lapping it isn’t doing it and the gun is settling in nice. Both are offhand, one at 30 and one at 50 yards. What a blast to shoot.

The deer target started with the 2 low shots 50 grains with an .018 wonderlube patch with .530rb.
Bumped it up to 60 grains and that’s where the other 8 shots are.
Also 60 for the bullseye target with same ball patch combo.
Tried some cut .018 patches with spit the next day and had to bump it to 70 grains to get it to shoot at point of aim at 50.
.535 load hard even with .013 patch.
