Title: My humble attempt making a peace hawk

It has rookie flaws but hopefully future ones will shape up better.

A rookie piece indeed!  As it looks to me like a museum piece, How the h%#& can you do better?  I'd expect it to have been built by someone who's built these many times before.  Don't be humble, that is a grade "A" job!

Nice hawk. Is that one of the Carlos Gove cast heads that you used or did you make it your self?

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. It was a fun project but did take a long time. B. Barker you are correct, it is a Carlos Gove head. Hope to forge one on my own one day but my day job keeps getting in the way.  ;)

I have two rifles on the bench now but hope to start a brass hawk by next spring, I’m really slooow!

I like it.  Nice workmanship.  I like to grind the casting bumps off of them and make the smooth.
