Same as any other 54 barrel, 50 gr of 2f starting load and shoot it to find out. Keep track of every combination,s results.

I have a C weight .54 Colerain on my Virginia rifle. For trail walks and such, 65 grains of 2f Schuetzen, a .530 Hornady ball, and .020 Ox Yoke patch shoots pretty good. My hunting load is the same ball and patch, and 90 grains of 3f Schuetzen...shoots just as accurately and hits like the hand of God.

I have been shooting that same rifle for 30 years.  75Gr FFG I use for target and hunting.  I have tried FFFG and can't quite get it to shoot the same.  But maybe I am using too much powder with FFFG?  I shoot .535 RB & .018 patch.

For a 50 to 65 yard target I'd load 65 grains of 3fg and a patched round ball. The 1-56 twist is very versatile, mine shoots good with practically every load I've ever tried, from less than 50 grains to 80 which is my hunting load. For accuracy I use old LeHigh Valley or Mr. Flintlocks lube. These are wet lubes and clean as they load. But they don't work well for hunting as they evaporate, so for hunting I use a grease type lube.
