Had alot of fun building this 32cal for my son. It has a 6''rifled barrel from MLBS and gun is 11" overall, the lock is from Stan Hollenbaugh, wood from Top Jaw, engraving and lock tuning by Jon at Kingsbury Arms. Coin silver inlays and sideplate and trigger by me. So nice to have reliable, dependable and curteous folk to deal with. I am new to all of this and this forum has been indespensable to me. Thanks to you all. Please offer your critique.

I like it very much. It kinda has a Folk Art look to it. Reminds me of some pistols made way back by Hacker Martin. Nice build.......Lynn

I like that one a lot. Does it "point and shoot" well without sights?

Thanks Lynn, I do like what I have seen of Hackers' work. Seth I figured a small gun like this would be for can't miss range and yes it points real nice. It is unfired at present.

Thanks Tom. I enjoy building them, they don't take up alot of space. It seems like anything goes so long as the execution is good. Wish there were more small locks available.

Well, I feel sorry for the peas! Your son is going to love shooting that beautiful pistol so much that there will not be a safe pea anywhere in your neighborhood.

I love the pistol you made very nice. I have always thought a plains type pistol in .32 would be really neat especially paired with a .32 squirrel type plains rifle.

THAT is one neat job of pistol making.I know from experience that a gun that small is more
labor intensive than a rifle.Full stock,too!
Ten years ago I started a nice little 40 caliber half stock boy's rifle from a precarve,pistol
grip rifle and planned a mini Creedmoor even to the fine sights but a low life,more than one
pushed the air conditioner out of the back wall of the shop and got it,some powder and small
tools.I know who did it but can't prove it. The rife would have been for one of our grandbrats.

Thank you for the compliments! I live in a small cabin and have a small workshop so it seems I have been building small guns for lack of places to keep them. Finding small locks has become a bit of a challenge and I see MBS has removed small small caliber barrels from thier catalog. Guess custom barrels is next. This is my seventh pistol and the smallest to date.

For several years I made special caplocks for Helmut Mohr in Mayen/Hausen Germany
to use on a .31 caliber copy of a Swiss target pistol made by Weber&Reusch.Also flint
locks for a Boutet copy pistol in 41 and 45 caliber.The smaller bore caplocks were and
are used in competition and all of them had high quality barrels,set triggers and locks.
I had one of the pistols in 31 caliber that was a prototype with a modified T/C lock with
coil springs. The German Schuetzenbund frowned on the coil springs and that is the reason
I got the job of making locks for them.I did use the T/C hammers and had Les Barber make
a mould to reproduce them when T/C stopped making the guns that used them.
