We had a lot of fun with the contemporary builders voting rack at the Alabama Kentucky Rifle Show this past weekend. We had about 18 contemporary rifles on the rack and we had everyone vote for their top 3 favorites. We awarded 4 places but I think every rifle on the rack got votes. The top winner was a John Biviens rifle owned by Tim Cosby. The 2nd place winner was a Kibler SMR built by Bob McBride, this is the rifle that he had posted here a few days ago. The 3rd place rifle was the C. Oerter silver wire rifle I built for Tim Cosby. The 4th place rifle was built by Wayne Estes and decorated by his daughter. A big thanks goes out to everyone who put rifles on the rack.

They all look like winners to The "Muskrat"!!!!

Wow, those are some beauties. Who did the wood patchbox #5 above Mike Brooks' painted gun? I like the lines a lot. Is that Dave's scraped gun as #3? Very very cool. God Bless, Marc
-
Yep, the third one down is the scraped Kettenburg. Not sure about #5 but it is surely sexy.
-
Marc number 5 is a NC rifle I built for Tim Cosby.
-
That would be hard for me to select from, fellows. All great rifles.

Brian Barker, no wonder my eye landed on the rifle you made. You do some fine work sir! God bless, Marc

Next year we will have better lighting on these fine rifles. I did not notice how bad the lighting was until I took these pictures. Hard to see all of the details.

Those racks will hold 28 rifles. Next year we need to fill the racks with fine rifles. The Bivins will not be on the rack next year but I'll try to have it on my table. I'll try to borrow a rifle to display.

I was in Eastern Kentucky today and saw one on a fellers work bench that you may be able to borrow for next year. Ya poor thing.

You gonna loan it too me.

I’m sure that this one will end up somewhere near Ramer Alabama.

Wayne now that’s just hurtful. I can’t believe that you were in Eastern Kentucky and didn’t stop by Hidden Hollow Forge, Flintlock, Payday Loan, and Spay and Neuter Clinic. I got a good supply of bourbon, and one of them shop clocks with all fives on it. Come on by the next time you’re in this end of the state.
