Post by: Dennis Glazener on February 18, 2020, 04:29:04 PM

Dennis,
That is very clearly not a Jamestown. It looks like a mountain rifle that someone later tried to turn into one.

I can only guess that he had seen a Jamestown rifle with inlays, and liked it so much, that he wanted one for himself.

Problem is gluing horns on a doe, doesn't make her a buck. (Smile)

Dennis This rile is what it is. Nobody will find out who made it. I has to many alterations. The last screw in the tang got me thinking about the rifle.   Thanks for what you do for this site and hope your wife is doing ok. Kind regards Dick                                  n

Dennis,

Interesting gun, would you happen to know if those inlays are silver?  I have seen that trigger guard and butt plate somewhere, maybe somewhere in Tenn. Thanks for posting and hope all is well.
