Title: .355 round ball

Was wondering if anyone had a source for .355 round balls. I know I can get a mold and cast my own. But wanted to shoot some vs the .350s before I invested in a mold. Thanks for any help.

Tanner's son carries on his father's mould making business at very reasonable rates. He will make a round ball mould of any desired size and will certainly do you a 0.355" one.   https://www.ballmoulds.com

AFAIK, no commercial mould maker I know of makes that size. I would like one as well, but I make due (quite well, too) with a .350" mould and my normal thick patches.

Thanks Daryl. If you don't mind me asking what thickness of patching are you using with the .350 ball

I'm currently using 10oz denim I measure thinner than normal, at .020" compressed in my caliper jaws between f
inger and thumb.(wide part of the jaws)
The previous 10 oz. denim I bought measured .0225".  The balls are small in diameter, so loading is easy.
My muzzle's crown looks like this. I don't need to use the short starter, but it's quicker to do it that way
rather than choking up on the rod to get the ball and patch started.
My .32's muzzle. The .36 looks the same but I haven't taken it's picture yet. The .36 has much wider grooves.
