Title: Sheetz Rifle Visits Birth Place.

 We met a customer this morning in Fort Ashby.   He knew we had a Frederick Sheetz rifle and ask us to bring it along.  He said he would show us the lots where Frederick Sheetz had his home & shop.  The lot is just across the road from the fort.  The lady who lives there came out and said we could take pictures of the rifle that was built there by Frederick in late 1700s. She was  very happy to get to see & hold it.  They are really improving the fort for visitors and have a nice museum there now.

Those are great pictures. Were you able to get into the museum?

I have been meaning to visit Ft Ashby for some time as well. While we await pics of the Sheetz rifle, here is a neat Dutch musket sideplate that was dug there (one of the brass mounted F&I era imports, other parts from the same guns are at Ft Loudon in Winchester, Ligonier and etc).  :)
