Title: Walter and Robert Hill Knives from the forge
Post by: Marcruger on June 17, 2020, 05:43:32 PM
ALR members Walter and Robert Hill have been industrious lately producing some gorgeous knives.  You saw one in my post on the sheath I made.

I thought you all might enjoy seeing a small sample of their recent production, and I went for variety with these selections.  I put a number under each in case folks wanted to comment or ask questions.

God Bless,  Marc

Thanks for posting these Marc. And thanks for the compliments folks. Robert has made great strides in knife making this summer. I am proud of his turn out and he keeps getting better.

That last knife with the bone handle is a documented Colonial/Rev War style, as opposed to some knives I've seen in the past that are based on conjecture.  A fine looking bit of work Walter.   Best wishes,   Marc

I really like the first knife, the last knife, and everything in between. Did I miss anything?

Wow! I'd be thrilled to have half of the talent needed to make just one of those knives. Great job!

"Wow! I'd be thrilled to have half of the talent needed to make just one of those knives."

A lot of it is practice and hard work too.  Here's Robert working on the guard for that rifleman's knife.  A lot of hours with a file.

God Bless,   Marc
