Title: My German fixer upper.
Post by: Justin Urbantas on December 02, 2020, 06:30:14 AM
Well gents, I bought the pistol I've had my eye on for the last month. It should be here in a few weeks.  I couldn't pass it up for $250. The biggest issue is obviously the crack across the grip. I got some good advice to fix that, so it shouldn't be an issue.  Might need a new nipple, and some cleaning, but it is in pretty good shape overall, and should be a good shooter. I dont know much about it. It is a .50 cal with an 8" barrel and horn nosecap.  The barrel is marked  A SONNS WIDDERN. Do you guys have any info about the gun or builder? Thanks

Looks like a hand full of fun to me, too. What caliber and is it smooth or rifled? For what you paid it sounds like they paid you to take it. A really nice original 'as found' gun that is a good looking piece as well. Thank you for bringing it in. Always nice to see some new material. Let us know how it works out, please.
