Title: Horn After One From Covington Virginia
Post by: Tim Crosby on February 09, 2021, 09:27:46 PM
Similar to the horn found on page 260-261 of Dr. Hopkins' book, "Bone Tipped & Banded Horns Pt I".
It is about 13" around the outside curve and 10 1/2" tip-to-tip. The butt is Walnut with a staple for the strap, it's hollowed out slightly and held in place by 8 nails. The tip is one piece of Whitetail antler and is pinned to the horn with 3 iron pins. The color is one coat of AF and heat, followed by Brown shoe polish.
