Title: Banded horn and container
Post by: Eseabee1 on May 23, 2021, 02:56:41 AM
Was finally able to get back in the shop after a couple set backs from surgery. Spent about 5 hours out there today and this was the results.  Going to try and do some engraving on both the horn and the container.  The horn is around 12 inches outside curve with a 2 1/2 inch diameter Base plug which is hollowed out.  Tip is applied and is a two part antler tip.   The horn container is about 5 inches tall and 4 inch diameter at the base and 3 inches near the top. Has a turned Horn finial.

Glad things are working out. Good looking horns, I like the finish on the container cap, what did you use?

Tim I use Acks wood paste. First after I sanded it to 400 grit I used their abrasive paste then use  the polishing paste. It’s food safe moisture of beeswax mineral oil and carnauba wax.  https://ackswoodpaste.com/

Forgot to add the stain I used was Homer Danglers reddish brown. I got it from the log cabin shop
