Title: new trade gun
Post by: sghart3578 on June 25, 2021, 05:51:04 AM
Hello neighbors,

I bought this trade gun style flintlock from Gunbrokers.  I was hoping you guys could shed some light on it.

It is a smoothbore 20 gauge.  I have not yet pulled the barrel to check for markings as I just got it and the light is fading.  I wish I had better photos.

There are no marks on the inside of the lock other than what looks like a "D" in a circle followed by a 1.  The only other marks are "GK" engraved on the barrel.

It is a fairly nice looking rifle.  I will try to get info on the barrel tomorrow and some better photos also.

Thanks for your help,

Steve in N CA

Hi, looks like a Davis lock, by the stamping, on that smoothbore.
