This Kibler kit easiest rifle I've ever built. I gave up on kits back in the 70's because I spent too much time figuring out how to fix mistakes made by the kit supplier. I went to scratch building until I bought this one. It's nothing but quality all they way and I have to say that people who know Southern Mtn Rifles think that Jim hit a home run with this one. I stained the wood with a dilute solution of lye followed buy some accents with Fiebing leather dye. A couple of coats of linseed oil thinned with naptha and a little Japan dryer added followed a couple of weeks later by 4 coats of Minwax wipe on poly finished it off. I rubbed out the last coat of poly with a grey scotchpad after 12 hours before it set up hard to take the shine off.
