Title: Kibler colonial styling
Post by: Woodland on October 17, 2021, 08:14:59 PM
Hi guys, I got an email on Friday saying my colonial kit would be shipping from Kibler tomorrow.  Being a rookie, I cannot identify a region / school / style it would most appropriately fit into.  I imagine it is sort of an amalgamation of several and no one in particular, but I need an idea on which rifles to study for carving styles and finishing.  I don’t t need absolute correctness as I am nowhere near that stage, but some help would be mighty appreciated!

Jon

I might be wrong and frequently am but I was thinking that it was a early Virginia  style. I'm sure Jim would be a good person to ask.  ;)

You can not go wrong by using Jim Kibler's work for inspiration.

Thanks for posting that, Scota4570.
Looking great, all except for the crown. I'd be smoothing that muzzle somewhat
otherwise, that rifle is perfect.
