Hello All,
I am posting my completed light infantry horn I made to accompany my recently completed British 1776 Rifle. I used and old horn I had in the junk box, Riffle Shoppe brass spout, a couple of screw in metal rings, and a cherry wood base turned by Tim Crosby. Tim kindly provided his time and effort to make the base provided I post the horn when completed. I added some three strand cotton rope dyed red with loops spliced into the ends with some whipping to keep it all neat looking. I used some rit dye to patina the horn, I used an old Kit Ravenshirer recipe to patina the brass spout. I then marked the horn with a British GR with broad arrow stamp and marked it for the Queens Rangers Rifle Company.
Regards,
Peter
Thanks for your help Tim!

That is a very neat and interesting horn. Thanks for showing it.
I liked the spout and went to the Rifle Shoppe site, but couldn't find it. Does it still show up there?

I need a horn like this. I have the Rifle Shoppe casting set but need someone to make the base and finish the horn......I would love to hear from some craftsmen...

Here is the base before finishing. The last shot of the base shows where I made it thicker so the threads would take better and give a base for the rear strap attachment.

Oakie,
Yes it still is on their sight. You have to look for it in the English firearms section unless it has been moved.
