Thanks Dennis for taking the time to read my book and write this review.

I recently found an early Rowan School Longrifle with a Christmas-tree patchbox. It turned up in Cape Girardeau, Missouri of all places. It is funny how these old rifles traveled.

I just got it back from being restored.  I attribute the rifle to Rowan gunsmith Thomas Nash. I own the only two known patchbox rifles by him.

When I have time I will post some photos of it. The Rowan School Longrifles are my favorite architecture found in North Carolina. They are not copies of anything else.
