I just received my newest bag made by Charlie Brown. Created in the true Smoky mountain style. It has 1 internal pouch for balls, an adjustable strap with forged buckle, and a river cane measure. Bag is 7w x 8h and lies flat on the hip as the originals did. The patch knife is a forged and "patinaed" 3 1/2-inch blade with a full tang, wood handle for a total length of 7 1/4 inches. Like many bags Charlie makes there a tufts of hair still protruding from the leather. Very period correct for a SMR or "poor boy". Sorry about the poor quality photo so I added 2 more that are somewhat better.

Charlie makes some cool bags. I enjoyed checking them out last year in Knoxville.

Great set up and legit SMR bag. I have never seen that method of holding patches for easy access. Pretty neat idea especially for squirrel hunting.

Patch holder is a simple piece of heavy leather with slits made by punching holes across it with a rotary leather punch. I use this set up on trail walks any any time I will be shooting more than a couple of shots. A shorter one can easily be made for hunting.
