The idea for this horn came from Pix on pages 62-63 of Dr. Hopkins' latest, "Bone Tipped & Banded Horns, Pt II". It is listed under North Carolina horns.
It is about 13" around the outside curve and 9 1/2 tip-to-tip. The butt is of Apple and is about 2 1/4" in Diameter, it is hollowed out about 1/2 its length. The tip is made from one piece of antler and is pinned to the horn with 3 wooden pegs. The color is a couple of coats of AF, heated and rubbed back between coats, followed by some Brown shoe polish and buffed.
