Title: Making A Chain By "Hawkeye"
Post by: Tim Crosby on June 22, 2022, 10:13:14 PM: Over in Hawkeye's post, "Another Challenge" I asked if he made the link chain, he said he did and sent me a tutorial on how he did it. I asked if he minded if I posted it and he said that's fine do here it is. I'm sure if there are any questions he will follow-up.

This is what you need, small and large pliers with rounded beak, a cutting plier
And I find these iron rods 0,60 thick and 14'' long. For the chain holder I cut a piece 0f 5-6 inch. I made this in horse shoe style with the curls outside

After that I cut for the links pieces from 3 inch and formed them like this

With the small pliers I bend them little backwards so I became this

Afterwards I connected it with the horse shoe style bended iron. And you continue on both sides till your chain is long enough

I think that is about 1/16th". Those little flags that they use to mark underground wiring works well.
