Title: Hanging Game Flask
Post by: Paul from KY on July 18, 2022, 06:00:14 PM
I bought a powder flask at a local antique shop and I have a few questions.  The flask is approximately the same size as the Colt 1851 Navy flasks, and it is substantially heavier than the Italian reproductions.  It has the hanging game image stamped on both sides, and has two small iron carrying rings set into brass pegs neatly soldered its opposite sides.  The spout is missing and the threaded spout hole is larger than the Italian reproduction flasks - it is about 1/2 inch in diameter with fine thread. There are no markings on this flask. It is also missing the valve spring.  I paid $10 for it.

Is this flask a repro or is it an original?  Where can I get a replacement spout (with 1/2 fine thread) and valve spring?
