European-level carving. Waaay above my pay grade! Lovely.
-
I need a friend like that !!
-
I made a mistake in the description of the gun, it's a Colonial from Kibler
Sorry my fault
-
Yes very nice and clean work. Hope we can see the finished gun. ;)
-
WOW! Beautiful!!

That’s beautiful!

That’s some superb carving.
That one must have been brought to the colonies from the Old Country. ;)

This is amazing. Can't imagine to ever reach this level myself.
May I ask if this friend of yours is a member here? I ask because I live in Germany and am actually finishing a jaeger rifle kit and wonder if I try carving by myself of if I should involve someone with way more talent than me..
-
Amazing work. Just when I start to think I might try carving ....
I believe this level of talent cannot be taught.
-
Beautiful carving. So clean and concise.
-
That is extremely nice!
-
European-level carving. Waaay above my pay grade! Lovely.
I don’t have that level of concentration and I think skill is lacking as well. Fantastic work.
-
I like it !! Sharp eye catching and alive , love it. Some talent in those hands. Steve
-
The carving is so sharp and clean I'm wondering if he used the stab in method for the outline work. :-\
-
I’d just like to be able to sharpen my tools well enough to do that level of carving
-
Smylee grouch, I don't know what method is used to make the fine carving, only the guy who's doing it for him is a professional carver

This is just incedibly beautiful.
-
Yes it is - incised coupled with relief carving, making the height necessary for the 'flavour' without being too high in actuality.
-
Hmmm... Seems some of those designs look familiar. I don't mind ;)
Jim
-
That is breathtaking. Truly masterful skill. Please post photos of the finished rifles if you can.
-
Gonna post pictures when, but is still not that far, he is doing also some wire inlay
-
I guess this is Cherry Wood?
Which stock wood is according to you kowhow the best one (easy) to carve? This cherry looks sometime a little bit more challenging due to its grain and structure?!
-
Enfield, this wood is fancy curly maple, and the other stock is walnut
-
Oha.... was sure it would have been Cherrey...the last pictures of Reply22
But thank you...
-
Amazing carving, I’d love to spend a few days watching this guy work!
-
Finally here the pictures of the finished rifle
