So, this was started in a class @ WKU with Ron Elert, way back in 1998.🤔 Other projects intervened, though I’ve been trying to complete some of them in retirement.  This ALR website is certainly a big help!

This has gone through several sets of furniture, two locks, had the finish striped, more work on the carving, then refinished … and finally.  .58 cal. Getz barrel, Davis lock, plain English walnut & furniture from Rifle Shop.

That's a handsome rifle Warren. Glad you posted the pictures for us to enjoy.

Nice looking rifle, Warren.  I especially like the treatment at the rear of the cheek piece, and the integrated carving.  My kind of gun, thanks for posting.    Best,

           Ed

This is a very fine jaeger. Like the carving.
Did you do the decoration of the side and butt plate yourself and can you post some close ups of them?

Warren,
Great job on a fine rifle! Congratulations and you’re an inspiration to the rest of us to pull those partially finished projects out and get the job done as you did. Thanks for your inspiration.

Were the side and butt plate engraved or cast as such?

Congratulations on finishing your 25-year project. It is difficult to maintain continuity of thought over such a long period.
Like Ed Wenger I like what you did behind the cheek piece.

Nice looking rifle in all respects. If you were influenced by Ron Elert you had a great mentor. Ron made some very nice Jarger's.

Side & butt plate, trigger guard & patch box inlay are all Paul Poser castings, available from The Rifle Shop or Muzzleloading Builders Supply.

Greetings,
Nice job, the symmetry at the forward trigger guard finial is good.  I like Jaegers very much and I got a lot of good information in Ron's classes.  Hank
