My first attempt

After numerous mistakes and repairs here is the flavor that I got from Aqua Fortis, Laurel mountain nut brown, then linseed hand rubbed and buffed with soft cotton cloth.

I do like it a lot, and I "cooked my AF with and old tram-way rail spike from the early 1800s from a nearby iron ore mine site that fed Greenwood Furnace iron works in the early to mid 1800's.  It did take a thick, muddy appearance in the jar.  Is that normal?  I strained it several times but it was almost orange.  Normal?????

I will work my way up the stock when i figure out my camera.  Dont know how to get the whole thing in the frame?????

Thanks Folks, I will be ready for Pa flintlock season and it should be fun to hunt with this rifle.
