Advise on new project.

Hi,
Beg your pardon if this is a little stupid question:
I have some round .50 rifled barrels and two sets of back action shotgun locks that I can transform in percussion locks.
What kind of traditional rifle can I make with them?
Is there some kind of poor boy rifle that have round barrel and back action lock?
Thanks
Martin

Plenty of mid-late 19th century guns used the back action locks. New York State guns, Massachusetts rifles, schuetzen target guns, etc all use back action locks.

Thanks Tom.
Had those rifles round barrels?
I will try to find some pictures.
Thank you very much.

Martin, is your barrel round tapered, or straight cylinder?

They are straight cylinder and forgot to mention that they are very short on ml standard from 21" to 28".
I have a dozen of different length all have .866" diameter.
Thank you very much for helping.
I used them for some underhammer but would like to work on a different kind of rifle.

Begleg, there were many over/under percussion rifles made with round barrels in the 19th century. You just need to make a longer "nose" on the left lock to reach the lower barrel....Ed

Thanks Longknife.
The O/U double rifle sound like a good idea.
Never liked those asymmetric hammers, where they popular back on 1800s?
Thanks
