Thanks.  I love the Southern rifles a bunch.  The lock is Chamber's late Ketland.  I did remove metal from the edges of the plate to get it a bit smaller to work better with a 3/4 barrel and 1/4 inch ramrod.  A little bit of a worry, but it worked out OK.

Thanks for the info on the lock, Roger.  You did a great job of not being afraid to remove wood on the forestock.  Some of the old ones are so thin out front that I worry about even removing the barrel to check for identification under the barrel.
