I would strongly encourage anyone who is thinking about these classes to scrimp, save and do whatever possible to attend.I have had the pleasure to attend several in the last few years. The instructors are some of the finest builders and teachers in the country.I've been able to study some of the finest original American Longrifles disassembled down to the last screw.I have also made some great friends.I have received way more value in return than what I spent in dollars to attend.

I can't agree more Mitch. There are various classes around the country, but in my opinion none can compare to the gunsmithing seminar. The instructors are as good as it gets and there are typically an array of high quality original and contemporary rifles for study. As mentioned previously, somewhere in the neighborhood of thirty fine original guns were part of the "learning to look class". I can't think or a better way for a builder, student or collector to become better acquainted with the flintlock firearm. As I said before, the array of guns presented and the expert instruction created an opportunity that couldn't be found anywhere else.
In my opinion this seminar would be beneficial to not only the novice builder or student, but also those with more experience. The amount of learning that can take place in a group setting far exceeds what can be gained otherwise. We're never to the point where we can't learn from others.
