13-15 August, hosted by Davy Crockett Longhunters at David Crockett State park outside of L'burg.
Been a few years since I was there, but I enjoyed it both times I was there. Shooting events started Friday afternoon - novelty shoot. Saturday was for a rifle woods walk, a 'hawk woods walk, archery (I think), fire starting, and I believe they've added a bullseye match in recent years. Sunday for socializing. Prizes distributed Sunday afternoon. Lots of traders, musicians, blacksmith, tanning demonstrations to keep you occupied if you're not competing.
Lot of wildlife ,mainly deer and turkeys, walking around. Being a state park, it's open to the public and there's a paved road running along the perimeter of the 'vous area, so you will be seeing autos and mingling with flatlanders. And, dates are chosen to be close to Crockett's birthday, so it's in August and it's HOT. Shoal Creek runs through the park. Nice area to cool and wash off in. There are old broken millstones in the creek, possibly from Crockett's mill that was wiped out in a flood back in the 1820s.
Crockett longhunters used to have a website which is no longer operating, so they may be on Facebook, or you could contact the state park office in L'burg for more info or point of contact info.
